What Tools are Needed to Carry Out an SEO Audit?

If you want to get more customers from your website to either, make a purchase or get in touch then carrying out an SEO audit on your website and other marketing channels is a great place to start. Implementing an SEO audit will enable you to investigate what is working on your website and what needs improvement. Below, I have listed some of the key tools you would need to carry out your own SEO audit. Please note that there will be tools that have come to market since writing this article, so if you are aware of any other tools available please get in touch and I will be happy to update the list.

Google Analytics

This is probably the most important tool you need when looking to carry out an SEO audit. It is free and collects important data from your websites visitors such as how long they have been on the site, the number of pages visited and if they made a purchase.

Social Media Analytics

If you have social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn company pages then you will have access to useful data that lets you know how effective your online marketing is.

Google Console

Google Search Console (previously Google Webmaster Tools) is a free web service created by Google for people that manage websites. It allows the people who manage websites to check indexing status and optimize visibility of their websites. You can get important information here on how your site is looking to the search engines and also if there are any errors that need fixing.

The above tools are essential in getting the data you need to carry out the best SEO audit as possible. In the coming weeks, I shall create a post on how to do an SEO audit of your website – what you need to review and fix.
