Pay Per Click Training - The What, Why, When, Where & Who

Pay per click can be a bit tricky to mange and if you do not know what your doing you can easily waste precious budget on clicks and drive irrelevant traffic to your website. That’s where ppc training comes in, when done right, it’s a great skill to combat against wasted spend and aid the growth of your online business.

What is Pay Per Click Training?

Pay per click training is an educational process on all things related to paid online advertising. It’s a training programme designed to equip you and/or your team with the skills and knowledge to manage your ppc accounts like Google Ads (previously AdWords) better and help get the results your looking for without the need to get external ppc management help.

Why Get PPC Training?

As mentioned above, ppc is a tricky beast to tame but once you understand it you can leverage its amazing reach to get in front of the right people at the right time looking for a business just like you. Which in turn ensures you are not wasting any money on those clicks that are not interested or at the stage when they are ready to make a purchase or complete a lead form.

Getting PPC training is also providing the ability of inhouse staff to take ownership of the paid online budget and strategy plus understand if things need adjusting like budgets or if there are opportunities for growth and to gain more traffic.

When Should You Get PPC Training?

Ideally a good time to get ppc training is before you set up your first ppc account as the ppc trainer would typically use your account as a real-world example in the training process. If you have already been running your Google Ads or Bing Ads account for some time and know that skills are lacking in your team then this is also a good time to get some training booked.

Where Do You Find the Right Pay Per Click Training for You?

Well it is super easy to find pay per click training just type it into Google and there you go thousands of companies offering the “best ppc training in the world ever”! But with so much choice it can be hard to find the right training for you. My advice would be to get specific in what your typing into Google. For example, my ppc training is specifically for one to one or very small groups so if that’s what your looking for then specifically type that in and those that offer this should come to the forefront.

On the other hand, you may be seeking training for a large group which needs to be online due to remote locations of staff. Get specific on what your looking for, do they need to be local, are you a B2B company or a retail B2C company? Specifics help refine the choices to help you select the right trainer and their delivery style for you.

Who Delivers PPC Training Courses?

In an ideal world I would like to say active successful PPC managers that are working with clients are delivering all the ppc training out there but sadly this is not the case and there are those that maybe understand ppc but have very little experience actually working on pay per click campaigns.

My advice would be to always make sure the person delivering the training is a practicing ppc manager and can prove they have experience either with testimonials or ppc case studies. The world of pay per click moves fast (changes weekly fast) and if the person delivering the training has been out of the loop you run the risk of getting out of date knowledge. Don’t be afraid to ask what the person does to keep themselves up to date and if they have any qualifications / Google certifications.

So there you have it a few tips on when it might be a good idea to get in ppc training, where to find a ppc trainer that suits your business and what to look for in an ideal training course.
